kayleigh mcenany in for sean. and tonight, a major development just outside our nation's capitol. this was all thanks to a joint operation between the fbi, the doj, and the state of virginia. a notorious illegal immigrant. ms. 13 gang leader, one of the worst in the country, was taken into custody this morning. authorities also uncovered multiple firearms, ammo and silencers inside his room. look at that cache of weapons. that's what they found in this guy's room. now, according to governor glenn youngkin, who will join us in just a moment, he was instrumental in this. today's arrest could not have been possible without president trump. >> this task force was architected in a very quick period of time and stood up immediately. and in fact, when director patel was confirmed within a day, he authorized this facility and these capabilities. general bondi

president trump. i want to pull up this razor thin house majority. this is what we were looking at here. 218 to 215 is the narrow majority. 218 to 213 rather, which means republicans can only lose two votes on any given piece of legislation. a senior white house official told our peter doocy that when you look at this, this seat that you are in could have been vacant for most of the year. we don't have time to waste. they were referring to governor kathy hochul, who is no friend of the trump administration and would like to hold your seat open as long as possible. there were a lot of political realities at play, and i'm hoping you can take me behind the scenes into exactly how this transpired and what the thought process was. >> well, thank you, kayleigh. first of all, i was honored to have earned that nomination by president trump, and i'm proud to be one of his top allies on capitol hill. this goes back to fighting against the witch hunt impeachment. it goes back to being the first member of congress who endorsed him, as well as leading the charge in so many ways to combat

anti-semitism, which of course, he is taking action on today. i know the stakes. as an elected representative for new york's 21st district and as a previous member of leadership in the house, that we need to secure the border, cut taxes, unleash american energy independence, and deliver these historic results on behalf of the president. because of this tremendous mandate that the american people gave him. so i have been proud to be a team player. the president knows that. he and i had multiple conversations today, and we are committed to delivering results on behalf of the american people. and as always, i'm committed to delivering results on behalf of my constituents. >> what was the timeline on this? did this all transpire today? was it a long and thought out conversation? there's a lot of factors. there's, of course, the key election in florida on tuesday. there's kathy hochul's part in this. there's the notion that your seat has an open does not have an open primary. so there's a lot of factors. you know, what was the timeline of this? was this a quick decision

or one that was long and thought out? >> well, as you know, kayleigh, i have been i had my hearing the day after the inauguration. the hearing went incredibly smoothly. it passed by voice and there's been universal praise for the nomination. the reality is, as democrats as we see in new york state, it is totally corrupt. kathy hochul started threatening to move the ball on the election date. you see a highly, highly politicized radical left trying to do everything they can to defeat the president. and this is about stepping up as a team. and i am doing that as a leader to ensure that we can take hold of this mandate and deliver these historic results, that we can pass this reconciliation bill, which will have tax cuts, it will have border security, american energy independence. and importantly, i look forward to continuing to hold higher education accountable for their failures, as well as all of my work on the house armed services committee and in the national security space that i have been known for at the highest levels in congress. so it really came to a culmination today, but it was a combination of the new york corruption that

question, because hakeem jeffries in the d triple c, they're all out there saying this is, you know, a sign that the trump agenda isn't working. and it's almost laughable because when you look at polling, you see president trump at record highs in nbc. you see him at record highs in cnn and our fox polling, and then you see hakeem jeffries there and the democrats at record lows. so is this just political posturing he's doing because it seems to have no bearing. in truth. >> it's desperate political posturing from the democrats. as you pointed out, kayleigh, they are polling at a historic low point versus president trump has historic approval ratings as well as congressional republicans have historic approval ratings right now. and i want to point out that hakeem jeffries actually has among the lowest approval rating for any leader of either party in the house in modern history. and add on top of that, you have the implosion of chuck schumer, who is likely going to face a very, very contested primary in new york state. and you have governor kathy hochul, who is the lowest

it ain't tim walz with the spirits fingers, doing the leg kicks, trying to convince red state america that he represents them. and this honestly, is one reason democrats build on what tommy said are losing so much is they've lost men. men are tired of being told, hey, you're the reason why this country stinks when guess what? we think the country is pretty amazing. and i just think when you look at the data, when you look at the cnn poll, when you look at the nbc poll, the reason why democrats are collapsing is ultimately they have a failed idea of what america is. and kayleigh, you know this and i know tommy knows it too. the decision to try to make 1619 the foundation of america instead of 1776 to root america in the original sin of slavery, as opposed to the flourishment of human rights. the fact that america bends towards righteousness. it's an attempt to destroy the narrative of america, because if they can destroy the narrative of

hatred and extremism. and that's an unfortunate thing for our country. >> senator cruz, i'm hoping you can straighten something out for me, because i have so many democrats who say to me, look, there's all this rage at republican town halls. that was the talking point, the viral talking point. but then i read the washington post, and democratic voters are calling their own party lame. i've seen soundbites of people screaming down democratic members like glenn ivey. it seems like the rage is from the democratic party at their town halls. what are you seeing? >> well, listen, i think the rage at republican town halls was entirely astroturf. we saw the left paying and hiring left wing activists to show up at town halls. george soros, there's a whole apparatus where they fund. i'll tell you something, kayleigh. so last year, for about seven months, i had every saturday morning at 7 a.m. pro-hamas protesters in

front of my house. they would show up at 7 a.m, they would scream at the top of their lungs, they would bang bells. they would scream curse words. they'd drop f-bombs. they'd wake up the small children who live in the houses nearby me. and what was interesting is they would show up at 7 a.m. and they'd leave at eight. it was clearly paid for. they were being paid. as far as i could tell. these protesters were not palestinian. they were just leftists who were getting a paycheck. 7 a.m. they were there 8:00 801 they were gone. and it went for about seven months, and then it disappeared. they'd never come back. and it was clear whoever was writing the paycheck at some point, they decided, all right, well, we've harassed my family long enough. let's go harass someone else. it was entirely fake. it was paid for. and so when i look at these town halls, i think the people showing up are leftists who are getting a paycheck, who are trying to create the corporate media is more than happy to be complicit and say, oh, voters

edition of hannity. we move on to this violent criminal illegal aliens finally facing justice for the first time in years. and few people know that better than virginia governor glenn youngkin, who witnessed three years of president biden's complete inaction. well, there's a new sheriff in town, president trump. and today, youngkin was instrumental in assisting the successful law enforcement operation against ms. 13. also with trump's backing, youngkin is eliminating dye at public universities around the commonwealth, and he's appointing boards of visitors to make sure that the school stays on track for years to come. long beyond the one term he can stay in office as virginia governor. now, he's also earned a pretty interesting nickname, vito corleone, because he just vetoed over 150 bills that far. leftist passed through the democrat controlled senate and legislature as many users on x like to say, quote, this is the way. joining us now with more

governor glenn youngkin. governor youngkin, let's start with that operation. today. there's this inter-agency task force. it's the first of its kind, the fbi, the doj, you as governor of virginia. and i want to put up the results just a few weeks of this task force that you've been working with. and here are the results. just in your state, 28 ms. 13 members arrested, 19 tda, 27 tok. that's trans organized crime and seven other gang members. just in a few weeks. you have done this. you were sworn in january 15th, 2022. you had three years under president joe biden's leadership. now that switched. and in two months you've accomplished this. what's the difference between working with biden for three years and trump for two months? >> well, kelly, you said it perfectly. for three years, i've been declaring that virginia is not a sanctuary state. and president biden, with his open border policies, turned america into a sanctuary

country. well, with president trump's leadership and the great group of appointees that have been confirmed, we went to work. and today, this collaboration between state police, our department of corrections, homeland security, the fbi, ice, and lots of folks from the u.s. attorney's office. we went to work and they brought down one of the top ms. 13 operatives in america. and let me tell you today, virginia is safer, america is safer. and nowhere is there sanctuary for these violent, illegal immigrants. and it has been collaboration, kelly, that i have never seen before. rooms full of professionals who are going to work. and i'll tell you, on top of all of the gang members, we've also had about 300 violent illegal immigrants that have been arrested ready for deportation as well. this is how state and federal government should work. i didn't have it for three years,

in chronic absenteeism in the country from our schools, where our kids are now back in the classroom like never before. we are working so hard to make sure that we've reduced over 35% the murders in virginia. the bottom line is it's working, and i'm not about to let the progressive left send me a bunch of bills, because we're one seat down in both houses of our senate and our house of delegates. bills that are bad for business, bad for families, and on top of that, want to put criminals in front of victims and most importantly, take us back to where we were before i became governor. and so yes, i have a big box of pens. we have been using them frequently, and i'll make sure that, yes, the 157 vetoes that i had this year are added to the ones from last year. i think i'm over 400 vetoes since i've been governor. but as i said, this is what we have to do in order to protect virginia from moving backwards and make sure we continue to move forward as being the best state in america

mcmahon said in part, quote, teachers and school counselors should not be in the business of advising minors entrusted to their care on consequential decisions about their sexual identity and their mental health as well. and that responsibility, that privilege, lies with a parent or a trusted loved one, makes a lot of sense. and earlier today, she sent a letter to california governor gavin newsom warning him to ditch gender identity and comply with title nine or risk losing federal funding. education secretary linda mcmahon joins me now with more. secretary mcmahon, i read your letter to gavin newsom, and what i love so much about it is you pointed out at the top, you know, gavin newsom, you had this newfound realization that it's unfair to have biological men and women's sports. and yet you point out something that he has yet to call for the legislature to fix that. in the new york times, i'm reading an article from march 6th where they say he's yet to take a

legislative position. so is he trying to have his cake and eat it, too? here? >> sounds like it. but i think it's time for him to put his money where his mouth is, you know, and really give, give these rights, you know, to parents. i mean, can you imagine? we've got kind of twofold things going on here. one, he's saying boys and men shouldn't compete with girls sports, but he's just saying boys and girls. he's not addressing the issue of trans gender. so for boys who identify as girls, he's not taking a stand on that at all. and that's continuing to happen in schools in california. the other side of this is the withholding of information from parents and that's, you know, violation of ferpa, which parents have the right to be informed about what is happening with their children in school. and so for those schools that are allowing counseling for transgender or, you know, encouraging children without parental consent, we just cannot allow that, and we're not going to stand for it.

>> so that's something i'm deeply concerned about as a parent. these parental secrecy policies where my daughter could change her gender and her name and somehow not tell the parent that it's absolutely nuts. and you're saying with his positions on sports and on these parental secrecy policies, he's violating title nine and ferpa. so what's the timeline on this? when does he need to comply with federal law? and then what's the consequence if he chooses not to do so? >> well, we've certainly put him on notice. and there are some universities in california that are already being investigated. but he's going to have to step up to the plate and do this. we didn't specify a timeline in the letter, but clearly i think he knows that it's going to be imminent or risk defunding for some of the universities, you know, in his state. >> yeah. and we've seen the trump administration defund several of these institutions, and we've seen some of them step up and play ball, including columbia, which defies my mind. didn't think they would do it, but they did. they know president trump means business. i want to pull up a

poll just to show where the american people stand on this. they stand with you, secretary mcmahon. they stand with president trump. this is a new york times poll. they found 80% of americans, 80%, including more than two thirds of democrats, oppose allowing biological men to compete in women's sports. so how much of this with gavin newsom is political expediency? i'll tell charlie kirk this is unfair and then take no action because i have long term political plans. >> well, it clearly is political as far as i'm concerned. and i think the general public listening to gavin newsom understands that he's just done a total flip flop on his position. how can they take him seriously when he won't, you know, address it through the legislature, but he'll talk about it. it sounds good now to say on this 80 over 20 issue. yeah, that i'm in favor of not allowing men or boys to participate in girls sports. it's easy to say, but let's let's have some action. let's let's show that you
